How to Select Cool Room Installation Sites

The performance and convenience of your modular cool room may depend on how well you selected the site for cool room installation. This article discusses some of the considerations you should have in mind as you select the best installation site for that cool room.

Ambient Temperature

Do everything in your power to find a location that is very cool. Such a location will allow the cool room to function optimally once it is installed. For example, avoid installing the cool room where it will receive direct sunlight. Such a location will place an added load on the components of the cool room. Effective cooling will therefore be hard to achieve in such circumstances. Avoid locations that exceed the maximum ambient temperature recommended by the manufacturer of that cool room.

Proximity to Occupied Spaces

Cool rooms usually emit some noise while they are operating. That noise can be an inconvenience in case the cool room was installed close to occupied spaces, such as bedrooms or offices. You should therefore make sure that the installation site that you select is far from the places where the noise from the unit would be an inconvenience. A basement machine room is an example of a location where the noise would not affect the building occupants.

Level Surface

You should also pay attention to how level the surface is while you select the best installation site for your new cool room. The difference in the elevation of the different ends of the cool room should be so small that it would be negligible. For example, a 5mm difference in the elevation of the ends of the cool room may not cause any adverse effect. Surfaces that aren't level can cause the panels of the cool room to become misaligned. Improper sealing of the doors can result when such misalignment develops after the installation is completed.

Pest Control

Pay attention to how easily pests can access the installation site that you have selected. An ideal site should be easy to pest-proof so that vermin doesn't take up residence close to the cool room. Pests can damage the components of the cool room. This problem can be avoided by selecting an installation site that doesn't allow pests to access the vicinity of the cool room.
